Just a reminder for the Afan Nedd under 13 Squad that there is no training until further notice; we are looking at the possibility of one further fixture to complete the season. Any news will be published on the website.

Just a reminder that the u7 tournament will take place this weekend in Briton Ferry, registration is at 10 oclock with a 11 oclock ko. Any u7 teams who wish to enter and have not yet registered can just turn up on the day but must be from the afan nedd district only. any queries contact andrew on 07926613917

The under 14 team showed magnificent form to overcome a strong Pontypridd team at Taibach RFC on Friday 20th March. It was their most impressive performance of the season with Abercrave’s Dafydd Howells grabbing a hat trick of tries in the 27 points to 10 victory. Further tries were scored by James Mayes and Chris Williams; Howells also added a conversion to his three tries.

The last training session of the season takes place at Llandarcy Academy on Monday (30th) between 5pm and 7pm. James the fitness coach will be testing the core skills of each player before WRU Performance Manager Alun Davies takes a session on Becoming A Professional Player.

As the season draws to an end and with the players moving into the schools system for next season(Swansea Valley/Neath/Aberavon) a big thank you must be paid to coaches Ian Rowlands and Terry Cooksley and also Team Manager Gethin Howells for their sterling work throughout the season.

Neath Schools u11 training has been cancelled today 25th March.

Neath schools under 11’s train as normal at Court Herbert on Thursday 26th March; however, those boys who are involved in the county side that plays on Saturday (28th) do not train.

Coaches Andrew Thomas and Adrian Locke have selected the following squads for games with Pontypridd at Cilfynydd RFC (Nant-y-cae-Dudwg, Park Place, Cilfynydd. CF37 4HS) on Friday 27th March. A bus will leave Llandarcy Academy at 4.30pm. Unfortunately there isn’t space for parents as the two squads travel together. The bus will also stop at the Glynneath MacDonalds at 4.45pm; any player wishing to get on at this stop must contact David Arthur on 07740612791 to confirm. Hopefully the first kick off will be at 6.30pm and the other to follow on immediately. The bus will leave Cilfynydd between 8.30 and 9pm.

Hannah and Elin have not been considered for these fixtures as they take part in an Osprey Girls under 15 trial for next season; I’m sure we’d all like to wish them the best.

The following under 13 squad has been selected to play against the Rhondda at Ferndale RFC (Station Road, Ferndale, Rhondda Cynon Taf, CF43 4NE) on Wednesday 25th March. Players are requested to arrive at the ground for 5.45pm for a 6.30pm kick off (AA Route Planner suggests 50 minutes travelling time from Llandarcy).

Tomorrow’s (Friday 20th) session for the district under 13’s is at Llandarcy Academy of Sport between 5pm and 6.30pm.

The team selected to play against the Rhondda at Ferndale RFC on Wednesday 25th March will be announced on the website on Sunday(22nd) or Monday (23rd).
