Just a reminder to all district players that training for Friday 31st has been cancelled.

Squads will next train on Friday 7th November. Under 12’s and 13’s at the Afan Lido (5pm till 6pm) and the under 14’s and 16’s at Aberavon Green Stars RFC (6pm till 7.15pm).

Todays (Sunday 26th) district matches at Aberavon Green Stars between Afan Nedd and Bridgend under 13’s and 14’s has been postponed.

Tuesday (28th) district matches will continue as normal; keep an eye on the website for any updates.

The under 12 district team selected to play against Bridgend on Tuesday will train at the Llandarcy Academy of Sport between 5 and 6pm. The session is inside but players should always bring outside clothing just in case.

Tomorrow night (Wednesday 22nd kick off 7pm at Aberavon Green Stars) the under 16’s put their unbeaten record of friendly victories to the test when they play Bridgend in the first of a two legged affair in the Welsh Inter District Cup Competition.

Coaches Kevin Hickey and Gareth Jones have had difficult decisions to ponder over with regards to selection, however, they have come up with the following side that is led by Briton Ferry’s Jon Doyle. 

The following players will attend Aberavon Green Stars at 11am on Tuesday 28th October for a fixture with the Bridgend Development squad. The game will kick off at 12.30 but the players will have a team session prior to the game.

The following players will attend the Afan Lido on Friday (24th) at 5pm; remember to bring footwear for the all weather and grass.

It is with sad regret that I have to announce the death of Mr Mike Barnet Afan Nedd Youth Coach.  Mike was suddenly taken ill whilst watching a rugby match saturday afternoon and sadly passed away early saturday evening.  Mike was a very popular figure in many clubs in the Afan Nedd district. Iam sure all who knew Mike will agre it is a big loss to the rugby community.

Our deepest sympathy are with his family at this sad time.

His funeral will take place at 9.30am at Margam Crematorium on Friday October 24th

The team involved with the first game against Bridgend on Friday 24th October at Kenfig Hill RFC will train tomorrow night (Tuesday 21st) at Llandarcy Academy of Sport. The session is indoors from 5 till 6pm, however, players should always bring clothing for both indoors and outdoors.

The session for the team involved in the second game against Bridgend at Aberavon Green Stars on Tuesday 28th October, will be told (on this website) later in the week where their session will be held.

They are short of a fixture this Sunday 19th.  Home preferably, but will go away if needed.

Both the under 15 and under 18 Ospreys Women and Girls teams play at Tonmawr RFC this coming Sunday,19th October. The games will kick off simultaneously at 2.30pm.

The under 18 squad only has 17 players of which 15 come from Afan Nedd’s Neath Athletic. This match is the first in their league programme, however, they have a lot to live up to as they comfortably won an early season festival at Llandovery RFC, with success against all the other regions.

The under 15 squad of 20 players is made up of 11 players from the Afan Nedd District with Neath Athletic providing 6 and Abercrave 5. They didn’t fair as well at their early season festival but hopefully home advantage on Sunday will prove to be enough.
