At under 15 level Ystradgynlais, Pelenna, Cwmgwrach and Aberavon Green Stars have not paid their enrolement fee or provided a registration form.

At under 16 level Cwmgwrach, Abercrave and Pontardawe have not paid their enrolement fee or provided a registration form; Aberavon Green Stars have paid but not provided the registration form.

Friday 11th September is the cut off date.

Just a reminder for those interested in entering Ospreys Cup at 15 and 16 age groups that there will be a meeting on Tuesday 1st September. However, note there is a change of venue: Llandarcy Academy of Sport at 7pm.

A decision has been made that the Ospreys Cup will be organised for the under 15 and 16 age groups next season (09-10). The reason for this change around is that it is hoped that the incentive of Osprey Cup rugby will act as a motivator to encourage clubs to hopefully maintain running teams at a level where there can be considerable drop out.

If your club is interested in entering the competitions then you are requested to attend a meeting at Llandarcy Academy of Sport at 7pm on Tuesday September 1st.

The following are the notes that have been put together to clarify the laws for the ospreys Cup Competition.

All Ospreys Cup Games will be played under WRU U19 pathway rules with the exception of the following variations that will be trialled at U12, U13 and U14.

Under 12
Scrummage
8 man scrum can now push a maximum of 0.5 metres. Both hookers can contest possession by striking for the ball. NO deliberate wheeling of scrum permitted. Scrum must stay straight.  No. 8 cannot pick up.  Engagement sequence – Crouch, touch pause engage. But no hit allowed on engagement

Scrum wheels- If scrum wheels more than 45, scrum is reset, if pushed more than 0.5 mtrs, free kick awarded.

Under 13

All other  fixtures will revert to normal WRU Pathway rules for season 2008-2009.

Junior Osprey Cup Draw for the forthcoming season 2008/09 will take place on MONDAY 1st September @ Neath RFC 7pm. Please can each club send only one representative from their club to register for all their teams U12’s-U16’s. Entry fee will be £5 per team and there must be a registration form handed in on this evening with the appropriate squad on. Many Thanks!
